Historical Roots - Moden Fruits
Seventeen years ago, Michael Winston and his high school students brought down an old one-room school located up in the mountains east of Blackfoot. He had several goals in doing this;
1) He wanted to help build a better community by saving and restoring some of its history.
2) He wanted to build a better community by helping build better kids. Restoring the school gave kids of all ages the chance to unite with others and learn new skills.
The North Bingham County Historical Park now has 15 structures/buildings and beautiful landscaped grounds – all built by the combined efforts of youth and community. The goal of keeping our history alive and using the process to help raise better kids continues today.
